Workshops, Training and Supervision

Public Weekend Intensives

I occasionally offer Weekend Intensives. The next is scheduled for April 16th-18th, 2010 in Providence, Rhode Island.

These intensives—limited to 8 participants—are powerful healing circles intended for people who want to do a piece of deep, transformational work. They are open to anyone who has had some experience of therapy, and/or has an interview with me first. Other therapists sometimes send clients who are stuck, in order to do a piece of work before returning to integrate it more fully in the context of their ongoing therapy.

The format of the intensive is largely experiential. Within a safe and respectful setting, I present a framework for thinking about transformational change, with ample room for group discussion, questions, and answers. The heart of the work, however, is deeply experiential. Each day will include centering practices drawn from the Gestalt and the Ericksonian traditions, and over the three days, everyone will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with me in the group setting on an issue of their choosing.

While these intensives draw heavily on Gestalt process, the group field that gets created nearly always constellates significant archetypal energies. These energies underpin many of the specific challenges and opportunities that lie at the core of who we are. They represent the particular patterns and images that repeat through our lives in nested, holographic fashion. Working with these energies "live"—under skilfull guidance, as they flow through the safety of a contained space—can be a profoundly transformational experience.

The intensives take place from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is a 1.5 hour break for lunch each day, as well as morning and afternoon coffee breaks.

These weekends foster a deep sense of connection between participants, as the group becomes a safe place within which to do deep healing work. The space we hold develops into an intimate and powerful vehicle for change. If you're unfamiliar with my work, it's best to call before registering.

**PLEASE NOTE: I encourage you to register in advance if you want to be assured a space. There is a refundable deposit of $100.

Note: A list of hotel/motel accommodations for out of town participants is sent with registration packets.
